Rotary Club of Brisbane will continue our annual commitment to recognise and honour ANZAC Day in our community. More infomatin to come on how you can participate.

Rotary District 9620 members and their families are welcome to attend this event, hosted by Kenmore Rotary Club with Brisbane City Council’s Offsets & Restoration team, and kindly organised by Rotarian, David Kearney.

This is a fantastic opportunity to:

• Get your hands dirty for a great cause
• Contribute to Rotary’s latest focus area: Supporting the Environment
• Spend a Sunday morning outdoors with fellow Rotarians from across Brisbane
• See immediate results from your efforts as we help restore a vital green space in our city
• Kenmore Rotary Club will be providing morning tea for everyone (including the very popular jam and scones)

Bring your gloves, closed toe shoes, your enthusiasm, and a friend! It’s a great way to connect with nature, our community, and each other.

No meeting today - with both ANZAC Day ceremonies and tree planting this prior weekend - that's enough Rotary for the week. See you at District Conference on Friday.

We have a visiting guest from Kenya, Peter Nduati, founder and director of iAfrika—an initiative working directly with vulnerable children living on the streets. His work focuses on providing immediate care such as food and shelter, as well as longer-term support including rehabilitation, education, and reintegration into safe environments. While in Australia, he is looking forward to connecting with community-minded organisations such as Rotary that have a strong history of supporting practical, life-changing projects both locally and internationally. We have offered him the opportunity to share a brief presentation about the work being done on the ground in Kenya, and provide insight into the real challenges facing street-connected children. There will be a potential opportunity to create a partnership or project support opportunities with our club. This is a grassroots initiative with clear, tangible impact, and we believe it will resonate strongly with Rotary’s values of service and community.

Join us in person, or via Zoom video to meet and hear from the two Head Instructors, Monk and Liam Mallinson, who will explain what makes their 'FLOWBAT' Club different and why they exist. How does this relate to Rotary do I hear you ask? Connection and a sense of belonging. We can learn from them and vice versa.

This Club meets in Roma St Parklands every Friday from 6.30 - 8.30pm. Monk and Liam Mallison are coming to our Club to do a demonstration using their real Light Sabres! This is certainly going to be a Club meeting with a difference. Remember one of our Club Values is FUN. Who knows, in the future we may want to go join their Club, and they might want to join ours - depends on how much of a STAR WARS fan you are?
