The meeting, chaired by Area Governor and Vice President Bruce McNaught, was packed with inspiration, fellowship, and forward-looking initiatives. Here's the scoop:


heart The Induction of New Member Henry Pawa
A highlight of the day was the induction of our newest member, Henry Pawa, introduced by Dickson Ken.

Henry brings a wealth of experience as a political advisor to Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister and extensive academic achievements, including a Master's in Economics and International Trade. His dedication to governance and youth missions makes him an exceptional addition to our club.

In his first engagement, Henry will play a key role in presenting a 40-foot container of RARE medical and educational equipment in PNG next week—a testament to the impact of Rotary partnerships.


Welcome and Toasts
President Angela Murphy opened the meeting with a warm welcome to members, guests, and visiting Rotarian Luis Filardi Carneiro. Bruce led a heartfelt toast to King, Country, and Rotary International.

  1. Michelle Nickelson (Club Med)
    Michelle shared the fascinating origins of Club Med and its mission of joy and community. She also revealed the Club Med Raffle Prize - in partnership with Best Friends Travel :

    • A five-night stay for two at an Asian resort (Bali, Phuket, or Bintan) valued at $5,000+.
    • Proceeds will support the Kyeema Foundation.

Dickson Ken updated us on impactful initiatives:

  • Kicks for Kids is delivering 25 sports balls to PNG.
  • Solar Buddies are ready for distribution to communities in need.
  • Teacher in a Box offers offline educational resources to remote communities.
  • RARE’s Milestone: Over 800 containers sent to PNG with refurbished educational and medical equipment—changing lives one container at a time.
