Kelly Bartle MBus, CAAM is an executive adviser and board director with extensive experience in governance, risk management, strategic delivery and organisational leadership across Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Based in Port Moresby, Kelly serves on the board and committee of Rotarians Against Malaria PNG and is a Regional Supervisor for Australian Rotarians Against Malaria. She has also contributed to community initiatives addressing family and sexual violence and supporting people with disabilities in PNG.
Kelly is a member of the Rotary Club of Port Moresby and an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Brisbane. Her professional expertise, community involvement and firsthand experience of life in PNG give her a valuable perspective on the partnerships needed to tackle major public-health challenges.
Tonight, Kelly will speak about the work of Rotarians Against Malaria and its continuing efforts to control and eliminate malaria across Papua New Guinea.

It's the story of Menea, one of our graduates, who overcame incredibly difficult circumstances to earn a fully funded university scholarship in Information Technology and now works with us through our Junior Employment Pathway. Her story is one of many examples of the pathways our team creates for every young person who comes through our doors.

Another fantastic Rotary Club meeting for 2026! Relevant topic hearing from speaker Treasurer Celia Grenning and CEO of Kyeema Foundation Marijke Frantzen who explained the amazing work being conducted in PNG saving coral reefs by teaching villages how to make money and eat healthy to grow strong by farming Chickens.
Our Club meetings are just getting better and better! Tonight was genuinely awesome. Thanks to President Elect Monika Christopher Chairing the meeting, Shingai for presenting a Working Progress update on our Zimbabwe Global Grant project. Thank you to our Club members for their collaboration, ideas and energy they brought tonight. And our new friends and guests who attended and we hope they will join our Club as fellow Rotarians in the near future. Let the good times roll.
Our club is the home of 9620 District Governor Mark Williams so we're expecting a great turnout of members at this years conference Friday 1-3 May in the Gold Coast. Three districts are combining - 2026 Rotary Combined Districts 9560, 9620 and 9640 District Conference at Royal Pines, where our theme is “Reaching Across Boundaries.”
From inspiring keynote speakers and project reports, to networking sessions with community champions, we’re bringing people together from all over—uniting passions, sharing innovations, and embracing diverse perspectives.
Our club supports Eddie's Van via the wonderful efforts organising over the summer by our member Denise Schellback, and the volunteers she wrangles. For those who can't volunteer to help out, you can still contribute by dropping off or having your empty containers collected by Containers for Change and using our club number.
We've set a goal of $500 to raise to give to Eddie's Van to help cover their costs. You have until just after New Year to get those bottles in!
A day full of fun, laughter, and friendship and the Annual Picnic for Children with Special Needs sponsored by South Brisbane Rotary Club.
Our club sent along Monika (in the red sunnies) & Matt Christopher, Angela da Silva Murphy as volunteers and of course DG Mark Williams made an appearance. We loved supporting South Brisbane Club's wonderful event in a practical way.

Visiting a PNG Central Province Health Facility and meeting with Community Malaria Volunteers who give up their time and even their livelihoods to bring malaria testing and treatment into their villages.
Tonight’s meeting was amazing, one of the best in living memory.
We had Club Members being celebrated and recognised for their Service Above Self delivering impact in the community.
We had one of our newest members Past District Governor Ian McKay Chairing the meeting.

We enjoyed connection through fellowship and wrapped up with looking forward to the end of year events like our Christmas Party and AGM where we are in a very solid position to vote in our new President Elect, Secretary, Vice President, Treasurer and all other important positions are secured prior to the AGM.
The Club has new members wanting to join and we’re finishing the half way point of the 2025-26 year off in such an incredibly strong way. The future of Queensland’s First Rotary Club looks to be very bright and prosperous indeed.
