Rotary in Action: Dickson Ken Secures Critical Support for PNG Transport
The Rotary Club of Brisbane is proud to highlight the recent efforts of our esteemed member, Dickson Ken, who has taken decisive action to support communities in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Last night, Dickson flew to PNG with a mission to secure vital transport support for two containers destined for the Highlands. These containers, packed with essential supplies, are set to arrive at the port of Lae on Friday, August 23rd.

In an email Dickson Ken expressed his deep gratitude to Angelo and the TWL team for their swift and generous response to support his mission. He emphasized the importance of their assistance in uplifting underprivileged communities in the rural Highlands of Papua New Guinea.

Dickson provided necessary documentation, including a Commercial Invoice and Packing List, and mentioned his plans to contact key customs officials to ensure smooth clearance of the containers. He also shared details about the delivery locations in Nondugl, Jiwaka, and Nipa Kutubu, confirming accessibility for transport.

The containers, filled with donated items, will be gifted to the recipients for storage purposes. Dickson highlighted the significant impact these contributions will have, bringing hope and opportunities to the communities served. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a smooth process and expressed his heartfelt thanks for the support, recognizing the collaboration as a powerful force for positive change.

Dickson also writes: It was my distinct honor to meet, the dedicated District Education Advisor (DEA) for Nipa Kutubu. Our conversation was enlightening, providing me with invaluable insights into the current state of the schools that will receive our donations. As we sat down to discuss on an important topic — Mt Bosssve; we were joined by Allan Ricks and our focus naturally turned to Mt. Bossave—a topic that highlighted the challenges and hopes of the communities we aim to support.
