Rotary District 9620 extended its heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the Rotary Club of Brisbane for their significant contribution to the End Polio Campaign. Gail Wallace, the District 9620 Rotary Foundation Secretary from the Rotary Club of Capalaba, acknowledged the club's generous donation of US$1,000 as part of the District 9620 End Polio Club Challenge.
In her message, Gail expressed deep appreciation for the club’s commitment to the global effort of eradicating polio, recognising that such dedication plays a vital role in achieving a polio-free world. The contribution made by the Rotary Club of Brisbane supports essential immunisation and outreach efforts, enabling access to life-saving vaccines for vulnerable communities, particularly in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The letter highlighted that, with continued support from clubs like Brisbane, the goal of permanently eradicating polio is closer to being realised. Gail commended the club for their compassion, dedication, and unwavering support for this crucial cause, emphasising the collective impact made through such efforts in building a healthier future.
The Rotary Club of Brisbane has been invited to be recognised for this contribution at the District 9620 Foundation Dinner, which will take place on Saturday, 16th November 2024, at the Jindalee Hotel. However, as the dinner coincides with the club’s Christmas Dinner, Mark Williams has kindly agreed to attend on behalf of the Rotary Club of Brisbane.
Additionally, a reminder was provided that the District Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held the following day, Sunday, 17th November 2024, from 9 am at the District Office in Wacol.
