It's all about the 2025 District 9620 Conference - President's Letter
Hello lovelies,
Last weekend’s District 9620 Conference was an enriching and beautifully run event, and I left feeling both proud of what our club contributed and inspired by what we experienced. Photos here!
The speaker program was great. Our own Honorary Member PDG Tim Keeler gave an outstanding talk on the QBI Breakthrough Project—more on that later.
As always, these events open your eyes to how much Rotary is happening outside your own club. In the House of Friendship, I discovered several causes and contacts that will be ideal for our EarlyAct Club to explore and potentially support. It’s a good reminder that the conference isn’t just about fellowship—it’s about finding ways to amplify impact, share ideas and get things done.
And of course, the Gatsby Gala was a beautiful celebration—elegant, joyful, and unanimous in its success thanks to the decision to skip speeches (amongst other things!).

One of the highlights for me was the Kids & Carers Room, which our club proudly hosted. This quiet space made it possible for Rotarians with young children or caring responsibilities to attend the conference in comfort. It was a visible expression of Rotary’s values of inclusion and service. Our honoured guest, RIPPR PDG Trichur (Raju) Subramanian, was genuinely impressed by it—though also quite surprised to learn that no such facility had been organised for the upcoming 2024 International Convention. It reminded me that sometimes it's the small, thoughtful things that speak volumes about our values.
We were also proud to present Raju with a copy of our club's 1923–2023 History Booklet, which he received with warm interest.
Looking ahead, please do consider early bird registration for next year’s conference: https://conference.rotary-3d.org/ It’s particularly meaningful because our own Mark Williams will be District Governor in 2026. Full support from our club would not only be ideal.
Lastly, a reminder that new members are eligible for a $300 grant to help cover conference expenses. It’s a great way to experience Rotary beyond the weekly meeting—and I hope more of you will join us next year.
