The Rotary Club of Brisbane was recognised with a sincere message of appreciation from John Leddy, President of the Rotary Club of Hamilton, for their role in the Melbourne Cup Day 50/50 raffle. This collaborative effort, driven by members of the Rotary Club of Hamilton, alongside the Rotary Club of Brisbane, the Rotary Club of Nundah, and a team of Paddington Rotaractors, proved to be a significant success. Total ticket sales amounted to approximately $36,000, with the raffle winner receiving around $18,000. The portion raised for Rotary participants is estimated at $14,000, though the final figure is yet to be confirmed. Special thanks were extended to the seven club volunteers from Brisbane who dedicated a few hours to assist with ticket sales. Their involvement contributed to at least $3,000 being raised for the club, potentially reaching up to $3,500 (or more???), without any preparation needed beyond showing up on the day.

This outcome highlights the value of participating in 50/50 raffles and showcases the impact of cooperative efforts within the Rotary community. The collective dedication of members from various clubs underscores the shared commitment to supporting community fundraising initiatives. President Leddy conveyed his gratitude and acknowledged the significant contribution of all who participated in making the event a success.
