26 Aug Board Meeting summary

A few highlights from our recent board meeting:

All motions were agreed to:

  1. Membership Approvals:

    • Approved the membership application from Melanie Liu and Henry Pawako and directed the secretary to proceed with the right of approach.

  2. Casual Vacancy:

    • Appointed Bruce McNaught as secretary for 2024-25 to fill the casual vacancy created by the resignation of Peter Saxby from the board.

  3. Teacher in a Box Contribution:

    • Proposal to fund one or two Teacher in a Box units at $350 each. Noted that Dickson Ken is purchasing one unit to take to PNG in mid-September, and it would be impactful for the club to match this contribution.

  4. Donation to Russell Island State School:

    • Approved a donation of $275 to Russell Island State School to cover bus costs for underprivileged students to attend Tennis Queensland’s “Schools Future Fit” Program at the Pat Rafter Arena on 10th September.

  5. Support for Domestic Violence Prevention Initiative:

    • Approved a remittance of $300 to the Rotary Club of Beenleigh to assist with the purchase of Zone Domestic Violence initiative T-Shirts for PNG Clubs.
