Tues 5 Nov - Club FUNdraising - BNE Racing Club

The Rotary Club of Brisbane has been invited to participate in a fundraising event at the Brisbane Racing Club on Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday, 5 November. Volunteers from the club, along with family and friends, will be selling raffle tickets to raise funds for the club’s charity accounts.

The raffle operates with 50% of the takings going to the prize winner, 40.9% going to the volunteer organizations, and 9.1% to the Lottery Foundation. Proceeds are distributed to participating Rotary clubs based on the number of volunteers they provide, meaning the more volunteers, the greater the financial benefit for the club.

Volunteers are required to arrive at the Racecourse by 10 am for a briefing, with raffle ticket selling beginning at 11 am and continuing for around four hours. This event presents an opportunity for the club to raise as much in one day as they could have with a week of car parking, an opportunity the club missed out on this year.
