"Locally-Led Humanitarian Impact”
The Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Institute is an Australian registered charity strengthening locally-led humanitarian action worldwide, with a current focus on Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands. Through its two flagship programs – the Humanitarian Hubs Enablement Program (HHEP) and the Principled Action and Accountability Program (PAAP) – HADR delivers clean water, food and health security solutions, builds disaster and climate resilience, strengthens local leadership and economic development, and supports peacebuilding and good governance – directly contributing to Rotary’s Areas of Focus.
Speaker Bio
Mitch King – Founder & CEO, HADR Institute
Mitch King is the Founder and CEO of the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Institute, an Australian registered charity enabling locally-led humanitarian action globally, with current programs in Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands.
A former Australian Defence Force officer with operational experience in humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and conflict environments, Mitch specialises in building equitable partnerships between local communities, diaspora groups, and international networks to deliver sustainable humanitarian impact.
He holds a Master of Laws in International Law, specialising in International Humanitarian and Human Rights Law, and leads programs that deliver clean water (WASH), strengthen disaster risk reduction and climate resilience, and advance peacebuilding and governance – aligning strongly with Rotary’s mission to create lasting change.
Looking forward to the session and to exploring how Rotary’s networks can connect with and strengthen these initiatives.
