Madeleine Kersting Flynn has been the biomedical illustrator for QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute for the past 13 years. She creates illustrations to communicate complex medical processes for scientists and medical professionals, and is an advocate of “outside the box” thinking when it comes to science/medical communication. Madeleine believes in making science and medicine understandable for everyone! Her latest projects include a presentation for school children, “Worms and Germs”. Currently a puppet show, she hopes to bring it to television in the near future. She is currently writing and illustrating a large format picture book “The Secret Life of Cells”, and is also designing a medically-themed child-friendly sculpture park.
