Rtn Dickson Ken has spent the last year collecting desks, computers, books, sporting jerseys, solar lights and Teacher-In-A-Box kits. These items were packed into several containers and shipped to the Papua New Guinea highlands by RARE (Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment) who also helped source much of the equipment. On November 26, the fruits of this project were "unboxed" and distributed to schools in the Nipa Kutubu highland district of PNG. Many thanks go to the Kicks for Kids foundation for providing the rugby balls and sporting jerseys. We are not stopping here. Earlier, PP Mark Williams of RCoB, Rtn Dickson Ken and President Trevor Birney (Rotary Club of Boroko) met for planning sessions in Port Moresby and met with ministers and officials of the the PNG Government and the Australian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea Mr. John Feakes to start early planning for a large-scale rollout of Teacher In A Box and Solar Buddy lights to rural schools in Papua New Guinea.
